In today’s video, we are going to discuss another important skill to have-cleaning. It’s not glamorous and it doesn’t often come up in discussions on attracting men, but it is something they often hope we know how to do better than them. 😆

The second thing, clean, learn the basics of decluttering. Again, you don’t have to be this, you don’t have to make your home look like a magazine or something. But just learn the basics of decluttering. Learn how to keep things clean, try to stay organized. clutter is a hard one, even me like I tend to have a problem with clutter. So I can relate to those of you that are clutter bugs.

But look at your home as like a container and a series of containers. Your shelf is a container, your drawers are a container, your living room is a container. And the problem with clutter is I think a lot of us, myself included, when you have trouble with clutter, you don’t realize that your home is a series of containers and you try to put more things in the container than fit. It’s not a little bit like the Marie Kondo thing we’re like, does this spark joy? It’s like sometimes it comes down to does this fit, take your favorites, take the things you like, if you’re trying to declutter a shelf, take everything off the shelf, put all your favorite things on the shelf, and then see what’s leftover. That can be a nice little hack to get rid of clutter. And nobody talks about that they usually like overthink it. And like you can color code you can organize, but it’s like, dude, just take your favorite things, put it on the shelf, and then look at what’s leftover. And honestly, if you can get rid of it, it’s often easier to declutter that way, because then you look and you’re like, Well, my favorites are right here.

So when you notice the contrast, you’re like, yeah, I don’t like that as much. And it’s easier to get rid of it. But anyway, so there’s that. And so that’s cluttering and organization. Cleaning is also about literally cleaning, you don’t want to have cockroaches or mice or something, you got to keep things clean. And I used to be a professional house cleaner. So I’m going to tell you like the CliffsNotes on how to keep stuff clean. Basically in every home, whether it’s an apartment, your dorm, whatever, every living space has three types of rooms, you’re gonna have what I call a basic room, there’s nothing wet, there’s no plumbing in it, you’re gonna have a kitchen or a bathroom, pretty much every room in a house is going to be one of these three types of room. So for a basic room, it’s very simple, again, declutter, cleaning is way easier when you don’t have clutter. But cut try to declutter your surfaces and you want to clean from top to bottom, okay, so like you want to dust everything. And then sometimes the dust is gonna settle down, wipe down a countertop, or dresser drawers are like the top of a dresser, or like a table in your room, like wipe it down. And then once you’ve dusted everything, you wiped it down, then you do the bottom the floor, vacuum it, sweep it, make the bed, boom, you’re done. If it’s like a living room, fold, plump up the pillows on the couch, fold up the little throw blanket, put it there, boom, you’re done for a kitchen, basically, again, clean top to bottom, wipe down the cabinets, scrub the stove a little bit, get the gunk off it, clean out the sink, wipe off the front of the dishwasher, again, make sure it’s decluttered, and I’m just talking, this is not deep cleaning.

This is just basic, wipe down the counters, look at the bottom counter cupboards, are there spots on it? wipe off any spots, and then from there, you’re going to sweep the floor and then mop it. Don’t ever mop the floor before you swept it because that’s going to give you a bunch of problems. You’ll get all these little like bits of dirt and dust and junk in the mop. And then it makes it hard to clean. So always top to bottom, and the reason I say that is because as you’re dusting as you’re wiping things down, things get fault they fall on the floor. And if you sweep and mop and have a nice floor and then you start cleaning the cupboards when you’re all done, you’ll look down and your floor will get dirty again. So that’s why you want to go top to bottom that was a professional house cleaning trick I learned and that’s very important. But again, once you’ve done all that stuff and you’re ready to do the floor, sweep at first and then mop it and mopping is easy. You don’t need super harsh chemicals.

I mopped a lot of my customers’ floors, you just fill up a bucket of hot water and you put like a cup of vinegar white vinegar in it, the acidity of the vinegar is just enough to break through the dirt and so you can get a nice clean floor with that I cleaned hundreds of homes hundreds of times with water and white vinegar and my customers never complained, so that’s really good. And then the bathroom, bathroom I would say is one of the harder rooms because you got that toilet and it’s a little grocer. But again, the same thing, wipe down the cupboards if you need to, if there’s a spot like a spot on and wipe it down with the mirror, the same thing, wipe down the mirror, you can use that same vinegar-water mixture.

Do you want to maybe put a little bit of lemon or lavender oil in a spray bottle with it so it smells nice and spray your mirror wipe it down wipe the little knobs and the faucet so it looks nice. Get a little scrubby sponge and scrub the sink real quick. And then kind of get the toothpaste and stuff off there. Wipe down that counter and then for the toilet, you’re gonna you want to get like a spray cleaner that has like antibacterial you want that. And then also with the bathroom because you have to soak the toilet bowl you want to get a toilet bowl cleaner but you want to soak it. So what you want to do is when you do the bathroom, put the toilet bowl cleaner first thing and then start doing like the mirror in the cupboards and then by the time you’re ready to do the toilet, it will have soaked for about 1520 minutes and then you can scrub it out better and it gets cleaner. So you do that but yeah get the when you’re doing the toilet, put the toilet bowl cleaner on there, let it so get one of those brushes, scrub around it and then use your little spray cleaner to like spray the lid in the top and everything. wipe it down with a paper towel you don’t want to use a rag with this because it’s gross.

Even if you throw the rag and you like wash it like I always thought that was gross, whatever it’s personal preference but I would say when you’re wiping down the toilet with your antibacterial spray use paper towels and then throw it away and then you got that and then like the tub the shower get a shower cleaner. Scrub usually you need something powerful to get rid of like the soap scum but I mean if you want to make it simple, just wipe down your shower door a little bit if you have shower curtain that’s even easier. You don’t have to clean it cheap hack there. But that cuts down on cleaning but yeah, just do that. And then for the bathtub again scrub out the bathtub if you got like some shampoo spilled there, scrub that out, get the hair the little swirly hairs that you put on the wall. We all do it. Wipe those off, rearrange your shampoo bottles so they look nice. And then that’s it and then you do the floor because again top to bottom sweep the floor empty your trash cans, get rid of that bathrooms can often have gross stuff in the trash cans you want to empty the trash same with the kitchen empty the trash and then yeah sweep the floor and mop it, get rid of the little carpets take the carpet outside dump them. You kind of shake them outside, get the dust out of them or wash them put them in your dryer but either dryer washer either way, even if you wash it in the washer, I would still take it outside and like get some of the dirt out. But yeah, sweep and mop the floor and you’re done. And that’s it.
